Well . . . Happy New Year!

If you made it through 2020 seemingly healthy, mentally stable, emotionally intact . . . and single . . . BRAVO!

No, there's no prize or honorable mentions. But, 2020 was pretty darn wacky! And to have made it through and landed on this size of the 20's with a smile on your face is worthy of applause.

Not only did I, personally, make it and am still smiling. I had to sell my home, move to a new city, start a life with the new title of "disabled" and attempt to reinvent my life in order not to have to add "homeless".

Yes. It's been hard. But, knowing how many fatalities occurred. "Hard" is the new "best life" mantra. Hard is a minor obstacle, in comparison.

So, what now?

If you're still single as the clock strikes midnight - break out the champagne, toast yourself and then . . . do something! Write that book, start that business, paint your nails, forgive past hurts. But . . . do "something" to let yourself know that you fought a good fight and that you're still in the ring. Knocked down 8 times and making and effort to get up a 9th.

But, if you fought the good fight and know, in your spirit, you can no longer stand. Extend your hand, ask for help and accept it. There's no harm in needing someone to help you.

Having been single my entire adult life, there have been times when I stayed down too long. Too proud. Too hurt. Too battered to ask for help anymore. Thankfully, times have changes, options have expanded and their are resource to help start the healing process. Even if that means ordering hot cookies to be delivered at 3 A.M (Google INSOMNIA COOKIES) there's something that will offer you comfort, guidance and support.

So . . .HAPPY NEW YEAR folks! Single, boo'ed up or "it's complicated". I'm trusting that your new year will offer new options to a better you!
